He may be right to a large extent) And my little sister a lot of people like this movie outside my girlfriend who today on a re-watch probably my 20th watch of this movie in 20 years said it is not her cup of tea but she is only 20 and her favorite films include the likes of Grown Ups so take that what you will.
One of the main reasons my dad liked this film was it was an all around fun ride abut kids growing up in the 50s just like him.
Corey Feldman, Jerry O Connel, the main character Gordy, the late River Phoenix, And Keifer Suherland all did a great job. Even Cusack who players Gordys late bother did alright in the scenes made for him.
A lot of good scenes, quotes, memorable dialogue, a fun adventure that will not soon be forgotten. Top marks for this classic.
9-10, do watch it. It is one of those special movies with a great message.
